Synopsis

In the mid-Ming Dynasty, a tribute ink case rocked the Huizhou ink industry and brought down the Li ink-making family that had been prosperous for centuries, while the Luo family rose to the heights of power before finally being destroyed by government machinations. Many years later, Li Zhen, the youngest daughter of the Li family, was determined to revive her family's ink manufacturing business and slowly became a new figure to be reckoned with in Huizhou's ink industry. At the same time, Luo Wenqian, the second son of the Luo family, tries to restore his family's glory by changing the order of the ink industry. Together, they face fierce competition and the challenges of foreign trade to restore the great name of Huizhou ink, in a story of ambition, love and a cultural legacy that endures across the ages.
